KATELYN Mattchoss lives with the nightmare that her son Riley could go to sleep one night and never wake up.

After six tumours and cysts were discovered on Riley’s pineal gland, which is located near the centre of the brain, the Mildura mum says any knock or incident that lifts the gland could be fatal.

Yesterday, Riley’s friends and staff at the Goodstart Early Learning Centre held a superheroes day to raise funds to support his family through his ongoing health battles.

Riley may only be four years old but he has already seen more doctors than most people see in their lifetime.
