Schooling for salmon time

IT is the start of the salmon season along the southern coastline and, if it’s half as good as last year, it’s going to be a ripper. 

Reports from the beach at Salt Creek along the back of the Coorong have some very large salmon starting to show, which are generally followed by mass schools. 

A few seven-gilled sharks are also patrolling the beach as is the odd elephant fish. 

Such species are always in company with salmon as the chance to pick off a wounded or sick fish from the school is ever  present.
