MFC packing a big punch

MILDURA Fruit Company (MFC) is packing about 900 tonnes of citrus a day with the season at its peak.

General manager Perry Hill said 200 casual staff have been employed o achieve this task.

He said this year’s recruits were locals and backpackers who were keen to fulfil the 88-day farm work requirement to obtain a visa to remain in Australia for a second year.
