AN Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) report released this week has highlighted changing weather conditions’ effects on Mildura Airport’s arrivals and departures.

The ATSB said the report was commissioned after it discovered unforecast weather episodes were leading to unforeseen diversions and holdings for airplanes and, in some cases, landings below published safe limits.

The report details the June 2013 cases where two flights on the way to Adelaide were diverted to Mildura Airport and both encountered weather unsuitable for landing.
