State of discontent: NSW budget overlooks south west

IN a budget that included $7.7 billion for hospital upgrades and $2.2 billion in school and classroom improvements, the NSW government all but forgot its residents in the south west.

A previously announced $2 million upgrade for sewerage and a Service NSW one-stop, government-shop centre was all Wentworth Shire could attract in yesterday’s 2017-18 NSW Budget.

And of the 665 key projects spruiked by the government on a NSW map yesterday, Wentworth and its surrounding towns missed out completely.
