NICHOLS Point preps have found a new way to improve their literacy skills with the introduction of literacy investigations.
Literacy investigations involve students spending time at stations set up to improve writing, fine motor and sensory skills, maths, role play-acting, science and reading up to three times a week.
As an activity, students can dress in historical clothing and dig in a sand box to look for dinosaur bones, pretending to go back in time, afterwards discuss the activity as a class, then write in their personal journals about the experience.
