THE State Opposition will reveal new policies to encourage regional growth before the end of this year.
The Coalition-led Victorian population taskforce yesterday released its interim report, which said Melbourne was growing at an unsustainable rate and new policies were needed to encourage the state’s booming population to spread to regional centres.
While the interim report did not identify any policy solutions, the taskforce intends to issue a final report with recommendations at the end of the year after more consultation with regional communities.
