PRINCIPALS, teachers and support staff across the state landed on Senator Derryn Hinch’s doorstep on Friday to rally against the Federal Government’s cuts to public schools.
It is forecast schools in the Mallee would lose $20.8 million over the next two years.
Australian Education Union Victorian branch president Meredith Peace said school staff wanted to send a strong message to Senator Hinch, showing him they do not support the Federal Government’s bid to slash $630 million from Victorian public schools, and they are hoping he will oppose the cuts.
