Crime spike: Mildura triples state average in latest CSA figures

MILDURA’S crime rate has risen more than three times higher than the state average.

The latest Crime Statistics Agency data, released yesterday, revealed the Mildura Local Government Area (LGA) offence rate per 100,000 population rose 8.1 per cent to March 2017.

This figure was more than triple the state average rise of 2.5 per cent.

Theft was the most common offence for the Mildura LGA with 1699 offences of this type recorded.
