Violence rate slows

FAMILY violence incidents in the Mildura local government area increased by 0.6 per cent from the year to March 2017, according to the latest Crime Statistics Agency figures.

This was markedly less than the staggering 14 per cent rise experienced from the year to March 2015.

The figures suggest the rise in family violence incidents is beginning to slow in the region, however Mildura mayor Glenn Milne yesterday described any increase as “terrible”.
