Golfers swing into region for masters

New Zealander Graham Duckett, pictured during the 2011 Shane Doherty Memorial Tri-State Masters, is returning for the tournament for the 12th consecutive year next week.

HUNDREDS have made the annual golfing pilgrimage to Sunraysia as the Shane Doherty Memorial Tri-State Masters hits off for its 25th year next week.

A total of 226 players will be teeing it up at Riverside Golf Club, Mildura Golf Resort, Red Cliffs Golf Club and Coomealla Golf Club, with 82 golf clubs from around Australia and New Zealand being represented.

Off the courses, there are eight social functions for the players and their non-playing partners to enjoy throughout the week to Friday, beginning with an opening cocktail party in the Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club auditorium tomorrow night.
