Historic Willaba’s new life

IT has taken patience, skill and careful hands to restore the historic lifeboat Willaba to its former glory.

The River and Riverboat Historical and Preservation Society team members spent two years carefully replacing the twin-layer­­­­ steel hull.

Society president Robert Mansell said it took a team of about 12 people, including retired mechanics, electricians and painters to fix the vessel during weekly workshop sessions.
