Rootstock release on way

AUSTRALIAN citrus growers are set to benefit from the release of six Chinese citrus rootstocks after 26 years of work by researchers based at Dareton in New South Wales.

NSW Department of Primary Industries citrus research physiologist Tahir Khurshid is based at Dareton and has been working on the rootstock evaluation program for the past 16 years.

The program involves collecting and exchanging citrus rootstocks between Australia and China.
