THE Mildura Heat survived a spirited challenge from Camberwell, rallying to win 68-63, and secure a 2-0 scoreline on their weekend road trip in Big V Basketball Division Two men.

The Heat led by 17 points with just under five minutes remaining in the third quarter against the Dragons before the home side surged, tying the score with 1:26 left on the clock.

A clutch three by Alex Newstead with 27 seconds remaining was followed by a great defensive block by Calvin Henry on Camberwell’s Michael Osekowski with 19 seconds on the clock and then a late lay-up to Benson Steere gave the Heat a thrilling away win.
