Workers helped to fit in

Seven Fields says the first goal will be to help the group of Solomon Islanders settle into life in Sunraysia and learn about their rights as workers in Australia.

Seven Fields occupational health and safety manager Steve Scott said this week representatives from Fair Work Australia and the Department of Immigration would meet with the men.

“They will explain the Australian rules about things,” he said.

He said the company was already impressed with the work ethic and attitude of the Solomon Islanders.
