Bright hopes for better days

THEY were on the outside looking in last season, but both Meringur and Cardross have cause to believe a charge up the ladder is possible in 2017.

The Roos added five players from Sunraysia clubs, with four of those – Kehan Dyce, Ethan Goldsworthy, Anthony Coluccio and Jonathan Tankard – set to play today at Lake Cullulleraine.

Meringur were two games out of the four last year and the club had confidence their recruits could meet the need to finish out games better in 2017. At the Lions, it’s a new coach in Andrew Willison and a swag of new players, including eight transferring from the SFNL.
