A WOMAN accused of the stabbing murder of her partner had a history of drug abuse, a court has heard.
Stacey Edwards, 35, appeared at Mildura Magistrates’ Court this week facing a charge of murder.
She is accused of killing her partner, Michael Power, in Swan Hill on November 22 last year. Police were called to a Makepeace Street address just before 8pm to find Mr Power, 32, with critical injuries.
He was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
A worker from Odyssey House, a rehabilitation centre, was summoned to give evidence to the court, after previously being concerned doing so would breach his con-fidentiality requirements.
The court heard Edwards attended the rehab centre in 2015 and had struggled with multiple drug addictions.
The worker told the court he believed Edwards displayed characteristics of borderline personality disorder.
Edwards will appear before Mildura Magistrates’ Court for another committal mention on June 13.
