‘Need for agency’

MILDURA needs a relocated Commonwealth agency more than any other centre in regional Victoria, according to north-west Victoria’s peak body for regional development.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Loddon Mallee committee chair Linda Beilharz said Mildura would benefit significantly from an influx of skilled workers if the Murray-Darling Basin Authority moved to the region.

Mildura has performed abysmally when its economic growth over a 10-year period is compared with the state’s other regional centres.
