LESS than a fortnight after a race smash left Nissan’s Rick Kelly without a car to drive, the Mildura man is set for this weekend’s Phillip Island 500 – starting today in practice.
Rick Kelly will compete across the weekend’s dual 250km events in the team’s spare chassis, following the carnage in Tasmania a fortnight ago.
The 12 car pile-up destroyed Rick’s Altima (chassis #006), with the team forced to work around the clock to get Chassis #003 race ready.
“It’s something you can never really plan for,” Kelly said.
