A THINK tank to create ideas to inspire city slickers to uproot their lives and move to Mildura has focused on education and job pathways, decentralising government, the public sector and business and better roads and rail.
Mildura’s movers and shakers met Victorian Opposition MPs to thrash out ways to attract people from Melbourne and ease congestion that has come with high levels of population growth.
Liberal-Nationals Population Policy Taskforce chair Tim Smith said better roads and rail to help export primary produce to Melbourne’s ports, and help residents move about Mildura, were topics several members of the think tank had suggested.
