MILDURA locals and visitors chipped in more than $16,000 towards the Good Friday Appeal’s final tally of more than $17.6 million.
Irymple Fire Brigade captain Stephen Krohn, who co-ordinates the local appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital, said his family had needed the services of the hospital twice – for his daughter in 1998 and for his granddaughter this year.
Mr Krohn said his family’s experience was just the tip of the iceberg.
“There are a lot of kids up here that go down there,” he said.
