THE Sunraysia Steam Preservation Society said it was disappointed by the number of visitors that turned out to see the Psyche Pumps roar to life at the weekend for the first time this year.

Society president Ian Kellett said it was “a bit disappointing” that visitor numbers were down from last Easter.

About 400 people watched the heritage listed steam-powered pumps in action on Easter Sunday, after they were last run in September.

Heavy rainfall twice forced volunteers to cancel its popular running days scheduled in January.
