YOUNG tennis players from ­regions such as Sunraysia have an advantage over their metropolitan counterparts, according to a senior Tennis Australia official.

Tennis Australia’s talent development manager for Victoria Ashley Naumann visited the Mildura Lawn Tennis Club last week, speaking with coaches and parents as well as working with some of the region’s up-and-coming junior stars. 

He said while children in the city had more opportunity to compete and train, they didn’t have the same drive as country players.
