Growers have been urged to implement best practice biosecurity measures for their vineyards.

WITH vintage ramping up across the state, vineyard operators and support industries have been reminded to implement best practice biosecurity measures when entering and leaving properties.

Victorian Viticulture Biosecurity Committee (VVBC) chairman Damien Sheehan said best practice vineyard biosecurity was the responsibility of the vineyard owner/manager, and the best place to implement this is at the farm gate.

“Do not allow anyone onto the vineyard unless you know where they have been, likewise do not allow the entry of equipment unless it has been appropriately cleaned,” Mr Sheehan said.
