MILDURA’S Dudley Marrows had already made his mark as a World War II airman when he became acquainted with Catalina aircraft at Lake Boga.

The town, about 15km from Swan Hill, commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Lake Boga Flying Boat Depot on Saturday with aerobatic flying displays by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Roulettes and the Sky Aces aerobatic team.

Mr Marrows, Mildura’s most distinguished World War II veteran, flew British Sunderland flying boat patrol bombers over Europe for three years of the war before returning to Australia and spending many hours in Catalinas.
