AN untimely ankle injury to Mildura forward Henry Kerr has dealt a blow to the Demons’ 2017 season preparations.

Mildura coach Mark Alvey said the extent of Kerr’s injury, sustained during a practice game against Irymple on Thursday, was unclear yesterday.

“We’re hoping it’s just ligament damage ... it looks like it’ll be an uphill battle for round 1, but we’ve still got month to go,” he said.

“It’s disappointing in a practice game, but there’s nothing you can do about it, you’ve got to have them.”
