DEPUTY Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce says public servants should “leave their conceits in the Blue Mountains” and embrace the move to regional centres like Mildura.

In Sunraysia for yesterday’s Murray-Darling Basin Ministerial Council, Mr Joyce reiterated his support for Commonwealth agencies to be shifted out of Canberra into the regions.

A Senate inquiry into the cost-benefits of relocating agencies from the national capital received more than 1000 submissions, including one from Mildura Rural City Council calling for the Murray-Darling Basin Authority to move to the rivers’ junction at Wentworth.
