NSW Water Minister Niall Blair says he will “go away with a lot of homework” after discussing water issues with Wentworth Shire Council during his first ministerial visit to Sunraysia.

Mr Blair last night ruled out decommissioning the Menindee Lakes but said there needed to be further discussions with other states to determine whether there would be changes to the lakes’ operating rules.

Wentworth Council figures also raised concerns about Darling River management and the route of the $500 million pipeline NSW is building to supply Broken Hill with water from the Murray River.
