Wharf set for repairs: Inspection ‘to determine work’

MILDURA Council has vowed to immediately address the issue of the deteriorating Mildura Wharf.

Mildura Paddlesteamers’ Ashton Kreuzer has described the state of the wharf as an “embarrassment” and said it needed to be fixed before the Easter holidays.

The wharf has broken railings, missing safety guards, stripped paint and exposed nails. The damage has been caused by a combination of wear and tear, last year’s floods and vandalism.

Council spokesman Ben Piscioneri said council was responsible for maintenance of the wharf and was aware of its condition.
