TWO Mildura men have been arrested after cannabis was found on two properties following search warrants executed by Mildura police.
On Friday a 45-year-old Mildura man was charged with trafficking cannabis and dealing in the proceeds of crime.
Sergeant Dale Long from the Mallee Division Response Unit said the charges were laid after a “significant” amount of cannabis and cash were found on the property.
The man fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Friday afternoon, but was released on bail and will appear in court on April 12.
A man in his early 20s was arrested in a separate search warrant executed on Saturday afternoon at a Chaffey Avenue property.
“The man was arrested in relation to possession of an ounce of cannabis that was found as a result of the search warrant,” Sgt Long said.
He was released on bail to face Mildura Magistrates’ Court on March 22.
Sgt Long said both search warrants were a result of public tip-offs and has urged other members of the public to notify police of any possible crime.
“We always encourage them to call police or Crime Stoppers and pass on the information so we can do something about it,” he said.
