Out of the Box says it has had a great response to its plan to supply organically grown fruit and vegetables.

A NEW local community initiative, Out of the Box, has launched a 12-week trial, with 30 households gaining access to a weekly produce box containing local fruit and vegetables grown on organic principles.

Out of the Box was born out of the Sunraysia Local Food Future movement and aims to connect local growers to local customers, while educating the community on the benefits of eating local, seasonal and organic.

The project is supported by many volunteers and organisations such as Slow Food Mildura, Sunraysia Produce, Cultivator, the Open Food Network, and the Victorian Government through the Thrive initiative.
