Fighting for river health

TWO of Sunraysia’s biggest advocates for the health of the Murray-Darling Basin will join state and federal water ministers in roundtable talks in Mildura tonight.

Veteran Coomealla dried fruit grower and environmentalist Howard Jones and high profile entrepreneur and cook Stefano de Pieri will attend the forum, ahead of tomorrow’s Murray-Darling Basin Ministerial Council meeting.

They will be joined by representatives from the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australian Floodplain Association and the Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations as they make their case for the basin plan to be delivered in full.
