WATER ministers will revisit one of the most controversial aspects of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan when they arrive in Mildura today.
South Australia’s push for 450GL of “upwater” that would take the total water recovered under the basin plan to 3200GL reportedly sparked tense exchanges at the ministers’ previous gathering in Adelaide last November.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and state and territory leaders have asked water ministers to present them with a pathway to delivering the basin plan by next month, with the issue of the 450GL still not resolved.
