MANY snakes slip in and out of Sunraysia homes without a trace while searching for a cool place to escape, according to local wildlife controller Steven Morrow.

January and early February mark peak snake season with Mr Morrow attending to about half a dozen calls over the past three days.

However, he said it’s right on track for this time of year despite a late mid-August start to the snake season due to a cooler than usual start to summer.
