IRYMPLE coach Shane Garraway says his side needs to bat longer.

Going into day one of today’s Sunraysia Cricket Association First Division clash at home with Nichols Point, the Swallows are 1-4 after the first five rounds with the lowest run total of all teams and Garraway called on his batsmen to step up and get some time at the crease.

“Our focus is to bat the 80 overs out,” he said. “Last week our top five all made 20 and nobody went on with it.”
