WITH river levels not expected to return to normal until Christmas, the Mildura tourism industry is looking to capitalise on the flooded Murray.

Mildura Tourism chief executive Rod Trowbridge said most operators were welcoming the prospect of the water level dropping.

However, the industry had worked to ensure the flooding had not been a deterrent for prospective visitors.
