The Victorian Government has opened a grant program to repair war memorials.

ALL veterans organisations, councils and community groups have been urged to apply for grants of up to $20,000 to assist with restoration work required on war memorials.

Member for Mildura Peter Crisp said grants of up to $20,000 to renew or repair local commemorative sites and honour rolls are available through the Restoring Community War Memorials Grants program.

“Practically every community has a war memorial commemorating the courage, spirit and sacrifice of local servicemen and women,” he said.
