SOUTH Australian Senator Nick Xenophon says his deal with the Federal Government on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan is a good one, but his critics disagree.
They include Bill McClumpha, spokesman for the Victorian Farmers Federation Sunraysia branch, who yesterday said Senator Xenophon had managed only to “take the heat off Barnaby Joyce”.
Mr Joyce was criticised by South Australia and lauded by Victoria and NSW when he warned that irrigation communities were hurting because of water recovery efforts.
