IRYMPLE young gun Billy Phelan proved his worth as an all-rounder at the weekend with a rare hat trick against Merbein South in his Under 16 side’s win.
Billy, 14, came on to bowl with the Saints on 119 with three wickets in hand – removing opener Joe Pall for 31 caught in slips before bowling Jayden Curtis and having Logan Dunne caught in the cordon to secure the rare bowling feat.
It was Billy’s second career hat trick after also claiming one in Under 12s cricket for East Sandringham in Melbourne.
