FIRE permits will be suspended in Wentworth Shire over the Christmas and new year period due to expected severe conditions.
NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) will suspend fire permits from midnight December 20 until 9am January 9, due to forecast hot, dry and windy conditions.
NSW RFS Superintendent Steve Walker said the decision was made to help keep the local community safe from bush and grass fires.
