Wireless fix coming for vineyard irrigators

FIELD trials of a wireless sensor system to maximise vineyard irrigation efficiency are expected to begin next January.

SmartVine, developed in South Australia by TK SmartTech, will use a network of sensors to collect data on soil, crop health and moisture from across a vineyard.

The software can be used on a laptop, smartphone or tablet by viticulturists to assess and manage their irrigation zones.
