A HISTORIC Chaffey-era Mildura house can now be converted into a restaurant despite some neighbours’ concerns about noises and smells.

At their first ordinary meeting of the council term this week, Mildura councillors gave the green light for the Chaffey Avenue home, known as The Bungalow, to be turned into a restaurant capable of seating 53 patrons.

The proposal received 10 objections, including one from a bowls club based at the complex on the opposite side of Cureton Avenue.
