Hopes for storm relief haste

MEMBER for Murray Adrian Piccoli hopes disaster relief for NSW farmers who lost their crops in this month’s freak hailstorm will be announced faster than the response to the Gol Gol storm two years ago.

Mr Piccoli yesterday inspected grape and melon crops at Pomona­ that were destroyed by golf ball-sized hailstones during the November 11 storm.

He said the NSW Government was following the same process as Victoria in assessing damage and farmers would be given the same consideration as Victorian growers.
