Flood peak arrives: Little late, but finally here

AUTHORITIES are now expecting the flood peak in the Murray to reach Mildura today, having taken longer than expected to pass floodplains near Colignan.

While people’s homes aren’t expected to be flooded, those in low-lying areas may see water coming into their property or across local roads.

Incident controller Paul Foster said the speed at which the flood peak moved through the river was difficult to predict, despite the best computer and manual modelling available.
