THROWING a curve ball to Kobe Mutch’s draft prospects tonight is the fact he is a member of the Greater Western Sydney ­Giants Academy.

Despite going to school in Bendigo and playing TAC Cup for the Bendigo Pioneers, Mutch is very much a New South Welshman – from his Broken Hill roots to his current residence at Gol Gol.

He played for NSW­-Australian Capital Territory at the Division 2 national champ­ionships before representing the Allies (NSW-ACT, Queensland and Tasmania) in the Division 1 championships.
