THE company behind a waste-to-energy recycling plant near Mildura plans for the site to be fully operational by the end of February.

Sustainable Clean Energy, a Sydney-based renewables firm, is building a pyrolysis plant at the former Bemax/Cristal Mining site on Benetook Avenue at Koorlong, which will be capable of producing heat, electricity and diesel energy from waste material, including tyres, rubber, plastics and textiles.

The company’s managing director Alastair Brodie said the site was currently in a “start-up phase and construction and should be fully operational by the end of February”.
