MEMBER for Mildura Peter Crisp is hoping for “a more considered response” from Water Minister Lisa Neville in relation to his proposal for a tweak of carryover water rules.

Mr Crisp on Friday called on Ms Neville to allow irrigators who had purchased carryover water to be given access to spill water, after a much wetter than expected season saw them lose water in their accounts.

Ms Neville had quickly ruled out changes to the carryover rules late last week, saying they were there to help farmers manage the effects of drought.
