Call to release labour hire report

THE Victorian Government should make public a report from a statewide inquiry into the labour hire industry to complement the Fair Work Ombudsman’s report into backpacker exploitation, Member for Mildura Peter Crisp says.

The State Government inquiry, chaired by labour law professor Anthony Forsyth, concluded earlier this year and the final report was handed to Minister for Industrial Relations Natalie Hutchins on August 31.

Mr Crisp said the findings of the Victorian inquiry would complement the findings of the Fair Work Ombudsman’s report and help determine what the responses from state and federal governments to the issues should be.
