AS summer approaches and river use increases, Dareton police’s search and rescue capability has been greatly enhanced.

A new custom-built, 6m Seatamer cuddy cabin NSW Police patrol boat was unveiled at a water safety awareness event on the Mildura riverfront on Saturday.

NSW Police has jurisdiction over the Murray River, with local responsibilities covering as far as the South Australian ­border.
