Nikki’s accused faces trial

THE trial of the man accused of murdering toddler Nikki Francis-Coslovich is due to begin on Monday when the Supreme Court sits in Mildura.

John Torney, 31, has pleaded not guilty to one charge of murder.

Nikki was found dead in the roof of her Oram Court home in August last year.

Torney, who was the partner of Nikki’s mother, was charged with her murder three days later, but has since claimed it was her mother who killed her.

Torney will be represented by defence barrister Julie Conden in the trial before Justice Elizabeth Hollingworth.
